Emmet Lang Valle: A very Special Karateka!
Emmett E. Lang Valle is 25 years old and was born in Managua , Nicaragua . Emmett started doing Shito Ryu karate in January 2000 and his sensei is the Shihan Kunio Murayama. He is a second dan black belt. When he meets his sensei in the Dominican Republic, he’ll make arrangements for his 3th dan black belt exam which he plans to present this year.

Emmett lives in The Hague with his girlfriend and studies in Delft . At the TU he is Mastering in Structural Engineering and will finish that study in September 2007. He is used to staying abroad and far away from his family, as he also studied in Monterrey , Mexico . With email and msn, etc, it’s easy to stay in close contact with his family. Although his study and karate training takes up most of his time, he is also trying to enjoy his stay in Europe . He just returned from a romantic trip with his girlfriend from Paris .
Making arrangements coming to live and study in Holland , he mailed the KBN. The KBN Chairman Mary Daussy recommended our club and we are glad she did. Three times a week you can find Emmett on our tatami (Monday, Thursday and Saturday).
With his enormous enthusiasm and abilities, it’s a great joy to see him work out. When he’s not training in our dojo, he is working out in the park, doing physical exercises. In the few years he has been training here, he has proved himself to be an all round karateka as he trains well in kumite and in kata. As he learns a lot from our top karate fighters Geoffrey, Moreno and Virgil, etc, it’s also the other way around. When you have the chance to train with Emmett, you shouldn’t hesitate.
He especially likes the atmosphere in the dojo: Warm, friendly and not very hierarchical as in many other dojo’s, but still based on respect though. When he starts teaching on his own, he’ll also try to achieve that atmosphere in his dojo.

Experience in Holland : I find the Dutch people to be very kind and simple. They are somehow a bit serious, however, usually very polite. They all speak English!
